Welcome to a New Season

Hi all, I hope everyone enjoyed a lovely summer, I would like to extend a warm welcome to players new and old. I’d also like to welcome our new coaches and committee members, as well as thank our hard-working coaches, committee members and volunteers who have been busy over the summer preparing the grounds, teams and
facilities for another busy season; especially Martyn who has again made our pitches the best in Monmouthshire (not that I am biased).

We will be looking forward to another packed season with players competing in competitive football in 3 different age groups, as well as small sided games that the younger children are using to develop their skills. Our football tots, for those under age 5, is growing rapidly and our under 12s girls team will also be joining a
new league and playing in non-competitive home and away matches for the first time, so good luck to them!

As well as league run games, we also look forward to our social events such as fireworks night, meet ups, flag bearing opportunities and more! Please remember to check our social media, or in the future our new website, for details and volunteering opportunities. As always in the clubhouse you will find our spare boots and kit for those who need it; we are always on the lookout for more boots and kit so if you have any which are no longer needed consider donating to those trying out football for the first time.

Our growing teams are supported by our volunteers who’s hard work means we are able to play every weekend. We are always on the lookout for more coaches, assistants, parent volunteers and kitchen helpers; we have also had students from Monmouth Comprehensive doing their Duke of Edinburgh. So, if you can help, or know anyone who would like to volunteer please let us know. We are especially on the lookout for a coach for under 6s, assistant coaches for under 14s, match day comet helpers and paid referees for our competitive team- if you know anyone, please let us know!

Our amazing secretary Sam has been in contact regarding fees, registration and ensuring all our players information is up to date. If you would like to discuss anything in regards to fees, well-being or issues, or any concerns or worries regarding any of these issues, please speak to your coach, Sam, our parent representative Caroline, Safeguarding officer Amie, Well-being committee member Gareth or myself.

We also look forward to more details about our ongoing “Raglan JFC Well-Being Project” which we hope will allow us all in difficult times to support our players, coaches, volunteers and parents/carers. Thanks again to all the volunteers, parents and sponsors who support our club. Thanks to them we are able to invest in the club, players and facilities so everyone can have the best opportunities, facilities and most importantly enjoy playing football.

Best wishes
Jamie
