End of Season 2022/2023

Hi all,

So that is it! Apart from a few games and cup matches the 2022/2023 season is at an end! It was a season disrupted by rain and pitch cancellations but the games I was able to see had amazing football played positively and in great spirit, with both players and coaches showing respect for officials and opposition teams. I also saw players really enjoying themselves, and as part of a team, which is a testament to our hard working coaches and supporters who put in the effort every week.

Though the football season is over we still have some more football to go with tournaments throughout Gwent and beyond, plus our tournament on the 17th and 18th June fast approaching. More information will follow but the tournament is vital to the club. Not only does it put us on the map, with thousands of people attending over one weekend, but it’s the main fundraiser for our club. It’s the reason we were able to buy every player training tops this season as well as provide Christmas parties for them and more! If you can spare even a little time over that weekend when your child isn’t playing we would be eternally grateful and you’d be making a huge difference! Please raglanjfc.co.uk for more details or email raglanfcsecretary@gmail.com.

This season we have had new teams and players join us here in Raglan JFC, plus we had teams experiencing their first steps into competitive football. Next season we will also see more teams, more competitions and more football! We are currently using the end of season to strengthen our teams so if you know any players who would like to try out, please check the website raglanjfc.co.uk for details for training times, as well as contacts for anyone who wants more information.

If you are interested in knowing more about the running of our volunteer-run association, or want to have your say in the future of the club, then our AGM will be held at 6.30pm on the 22nd May in the clubhouse. We will be voting for people in all roles, and this year have vacancies for a safeguarding officer and secretary to join the committee. All our volunteers work together to ensure that the children get the best possible opportunity to participate in the game they love. Any time you can spare to volunteer is always greatly appreciated and really makes a huge difference.

We look forward to seeing as many of you there, or at the tournament.

Best wishes

Jamie
