Digging deep at Raglan

Thank you from Raglan Junior Football Club to the parents, players, random relatives and friends and to Alun Griffiths Contractors who blew away the January blues with an incredibly successful weekend of work on the clubhouse and grounds.
The majority of those who turned up on a very cold Saturday morning helped our volunteer groundsman Martyn Dembicki repair existing ditches as well as installing additional drainage around the clubhouse and the pitches. The clubhouse was given a deep-clean, and new, energy efficient lighting was installed.
Everyone threw themselves into it, with an impromptu football match and bacon sandwiches keeping everyone going.
With more players registered at Raglan JFC than ever before and a successful Summer tournament in June to prepare for, having playable pitches all year round becomes ever more important.
None of it would have been possible without Alun Griffiths Contractors, based in Abergavenny, who provided two excavators and five tonnes of gravel.
A huge thank you to them and here’s to a successful 2024 on and off the pitch.
