A Monmouthshire football team that is giving local girls sporting opportunities has won the support of a local economic consultancy.
Raglan Under 12’s will be kitted out thanks to the kind support of Bryn Carw. The company is all about creating partnerships, says Sara, so the opportunity to sponsor the team was too good to turn down.

Established two years ago, and proudly Welsh, the company allows director Sara Jones’ to bring her twenty years’ experience in both the public and private sector to companies with a particular emphasis on community and stakeholder engagement.
“As a coach of other sports in my spare time, I have seen first-hand how sport can help our communities- no matter your background.
“I’ve always spoken up for any sport that offers opportunities for girls to participate, and having seen the team grow since its first season, I’m proud to be able to offer Bryn Carw’s support.”
Sara and her team can be found at https://bryncarw.co.uk/ with the team at Bryn Carw having a diverse client base, and have experience of working at a local or national government level, with a particular emphasis on the renewable industry and infrastructure planning.
Raglan Under 12’s themselves started during the pandemic and is focussed on giving girls the opportunity to play football in a friendly and supportive environment, whether they have played football before or not.
Coach Gareth Bryer said:
“As a club we’re always grateful for the support we get from the local community. Sara’s always followed the team’s progress closely, and whenever we’d catch up, women’s sport would always come up, so when Bryn Carw approached us about sponsoring our kit, it felt like the perfect fit.
“This season we’ve recruited several new players and we now have more girls from Years 6 and 7 playing than at any point in our history.”
The team also benefits from having a female coach. Angela Cremonesi played football in Italy when she was younger, and now passes on her experience to the players.
“The girls have really grown as players this season.
“Working with each of them and seeing them improve week by week is really exciting.”
With teams now stretching from Tots all the way to Under 17’s, in both girls and mixed categories, Raglan Junior Football Club is growing year on year!
