Restart a Heart Day raises awareness about cardiac arrest and helps people to learn CPR, giving them lifesaving skills and the confidence to use them.
Raglan JFC were lucky enough to be given a free AED supplied by the Welsh Government Community Public Access Defibrillator scheme for use in case any of any players, coaches, supporters or visitors needs it.
Previously Raglan JFC has put on training to use AED and preform CPR but if you want more information the wonderful charity ‘British Heart Foundation’ has information on classes and training https://www.bhf.org.uk/how-you-can-help/how-to-save-a-life/restart-a-heart-day
All AEDs are different so understanding how they work in an emergency is crucial- the Zoll AEDs Plus (which we have been given) is easy to use but please see the video below for more information.

Our defibrillator is also on The Circuit – the national defibrillator network- it provides the NHS ambulance services with vital information about defibrillators across the UK so that in those crucial moments after a cardiac arrest, they can be accessed quickly to help save lives. All you need to do is ring 999 and they will provide anyone with the cabinet code in case of an emergency!
