Building a Stronger Future for Women & Girls’ Football at Raglan JFC – Looking Ahead to 2026/27

The past few seasons have changed for women and girls at Raglan JFC. From previous teams to much smaller numbers we are still striving to expand opportunities on the pitch to strengthening our commitment to create an football environment where every girl and woman feels welcome, supported, and inspired to grow.

As we look ahead to the 2026/27 season, our ambition is clear: to build a thriving, sustainable pathway for women and girls’ football in Raglan. And thanks to recent support from the FAW, we’re in a stronger position than ever to make that vision a reality.

🌟 A Boost from the FAW: Environments for Her Grant

We are proud to share that Raglan JFC has recently been awarded funding through the FAW’s Environments for Her initiative. This grant is designed to help clubs create safer, more welcoming, and more inclusive spaces for women and girls—on and off the pitch.

For us, this funding will support improvements that directly enhance the experience of our female players, including:

  • Better training environments
  • More inclusive facilities
  • Resources that help us grow participation

This investment is a recognition of the work already happening at Raglan JFC—and a springboard for what comes next.

⚽ Growing the Game: More Girls, More Pathways, More Possibilities

Interest in girls’ football continues to rise, and our community is no exception. From our youngest players discovering the joy of the game to our women’s team building confidence, fitness, and friendships, the appetite for football is stronger than ever.

But growth brings responsibility. To offer the best possible experience, we need to ensure:

  • Sessions are fun, safe, and development‑focused
  • Players feel supported at every stage
  • We can expand teams and age groups sustainably
  • Girls see role models who reflect their journey

This is where our next big priority comes in.

👟 We Need More Coaches – And You Could Be One of Them

To deliver the programmes our community deserves, we need more coaches—especially for our girls’ teams. Whether you’re an experienced coach or completely new to football, your enthusiasm, empathy, and willingness to learn are what matter most.

We’re looking for people who are:

  • Supportive and encouraging
  • Passionate about helping girls grow in confidence
  • Open to learning and developing coaching skills
  • Committed to creating a positive, inclusive environment

No experience? No problem. We’ll support you with training, mentoring, and guidance every step of the way.

By stepping forward, you’re not just helping a team—you’re shaping the future of women and girls’ football in Raglan.
